Stayed here for a night! super nice people explaining us the details about the Biotopo and the Quetzal. Great cloud forest hike with water falls and views. We spotted some Quetzals early in the morning. A little loud from the road noise close by but good for a stop.

Report Check-In

Stayed for three nights (100 Quetzal per night for two persons). Great place, good facilities but nothing special for overlanders. They don't have many spots for we loved our stay here. Very friendly staff and all working hard to protect the Quetzal. We have seen multiple Quetzals!

Hotel allowed us to park our small van outside and sleep in it (we have a Ford 350 superduty). There are clean flush toilets and a sink right next to reception and some very light WiFi. Price was not cheap, 150Q but it was late and options were limited. They do have a beautiful trail and two waterfalls we really enjoyed.

Report Check-In

Also a good place to stay in a camper van or small RV.
The caretaker welcomed us and helped us park on a paved level area underneath a big palapa next to the parking lot (our Land Cruiser with tires and surfboard on the roof is 2.57 m tall and barely fit under the beams).

We were offered to pay either 50 Q for two people just for camping or 60 Q for two people for camping and entrance to the forest and a chance to see a Quetzal.

Flush toilets, sink with running water and electricity under the palapa available.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

stayed one night for 300GNQ. Very kind staff and need to support this place since the owner may decide to sell the place to a lumber company for economic reasons, which would mean the end of the quetzal sanctuary here.

Report Check-In

They don't accept people sleeping in their vehicle, and a room for 2 people is 250 quetzal.

Report Check-In

Cost: 250Q for the room for two people (we snuck the dog in)
Dates stayed: 14 January 2015
Restaurant: Yes and the food was good and reasonably priced
Notes: The hotel room was very basic but the natural park-like setting was very beautiful. It is just off the highway and there is traffic noise during the night.
