Description
A very simple place at the end of the main parking where the trails lead down to the church, next to the internet cafe. We ended up here because it was cheaper than camping. There are a few other hotels in the area that were cheaper than what we found in Ipiales. A good place to stay before crossing the border as it's only a 15 minute drive to Ecuador. Parking lot in front is guarded at night.

Double room would have been 60k cop, but they were really shitty to us. Their garage was full of stuff from the restaurant, so they said they'll need 20 minutes to clean it out for us. we said all good and went to eat something. Once we came back they decided they were too lazy to clean out the garage and expected us to pay another parking place. So we obviously wanted our money back and left.
Report Check-InSafe storage for our cycles in a locked garage. no need to carry them upstairs. WiFi excellent when on. Hot showers at night, missed the hot water in the morning. ideal spot for exploring Las Lajas. paid 50COP for room with 2 small double beds. evenings a bit noisy but quiet all night. Hotel food cheap but not awesome!

Safe parking in a garage for a motorcycle.
Hotel Kuelap- clean, with hot showers. 50,000 per night for two. Conveniently had a restaurant downstairs. Other guests quite noisy but were quieter when we asked them to tone it down- sound proofing just ok.
Report Check-InHotel Kuelap- typical cheap Colombian hotel. Gets the job done. Was quiet from 10-6 am at least. Don’t know about the weekend. This is the best hotel we could find. Not many eating options here. Only reason we stayed is we wanted to see the church at night and they close the teleférico early. Spent one boring night after the church. Slept better at the teleférico.
Report Check-InHotel Kuelap: Great spot for the church and close to the border. Secure hotel with good restaurant. Right by parking lot and cobble streets to the church. Cosy double room, WiFi, hot showers, window view out to street and valley for 40,000 COP first night, 35,000 COP for second night. Manager, Brian was friendly and helpful, spoke English but let us practice our Spanish. Secure parking for 2-3 motos in garage. Would recommend!
Report Check-InA simple room with private bath cost 25000cP a nicer room with TV 40000. We had a view to the parking lot and could see our car. It seems safe. Breakfast for 4000pP. The parking is guarded at night and costs only a little extra. The restaurant downstairs is simple but decent. The funny receptionist even made a theatrical demonstration of how to take a hot shower...
