Description

Amenities: Electricity, WiFi, Hot showers, good wind shelter for tents by the trees. Price: ~1500pp. and 1500 per tent. 4300 for a car, 8000 for motorhome. This town is out of the way no matter where you‘re headed, but the most reliable source of gas (YPF station) in the area. When Tres Lagos and Bajo Caracoles actually have fuel, it is expensive. There is a La Anonima in town. This small campground has good wind cover. Like most of RN40, here it is now paved and the RN40 has been rerouted through town.
Nice Cafe Bakery round the corner opposite the hospital, with good coffee.

Nice little campsite. Paid 10.000 for two people and a van. Clean new toilets but only one old, either scalding hot or ice cold, shower.

Report Check-In

Great camping, clean toilets and clean hot shower, and wifi works really good ! We paid 4300 ARS for 2 people in a van (we have a big car with beds and kitchen but no shower)

Report Check-In

pleasant municipal camping. Several nice tent sites. RV and van camping is in the tiny parking lot. Electricity, potable drinking water and hot showers. Tables and grills at some sites. 10,000 pesos for a campervan.

Report Check-In

Nice small camping, good wind protection for cruiser with pop roof

Report Check-In

Bom camping.

Report Check-In

small, simple campsite, little space for vehicles, sanitary facilities ok but not enough for the number of people. inexpensive, 2500 p.p. very welcoming

Report Check-In

4350ARS 2 persons, rooftent.
The woman wanted to assure me that we had to pay the price for Motorhome (over 8.000ARS), but after a discussion it turned out through another employee that it only costs half... so pay attention.

Small campground, one toilet and shower for F/M each, table with raincover, barbecue.. Wi-Fi works at pitches.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Not the favourite spot of the week, but it did the trick.
We were welcomed by the friendly staff. Price for 2 persons in a camper van was $4.321 for a night, but we didn’t have small bills yet, so we paid $4.500 (they don’t do change I guess?)
Way too hot shower, bathrooms without locks.
WiFi was okay-ish.
We had a spot directly under a light, so we had a lit up bed thru the window on the roof.
Not the best, but definitely not the worst of campgrounds!

Report Check-In

Small and fantastic campground with good wind protection (high walls and large cottonwood trees) on the right side of the parking lot. Very friendly people, bathrooms and showers were clean, showers were almost too hot (not complaining!), and there is a nice covered picnic area with a dishwashing sink if the weather is poor. We used their hose to fill our water tank. Not sure about potability, we used a filter.

Report Check-In

this is a good spot if you need to refill water or are in a tent as the trees will provide wind shelter

but its a very small place. big rigs will not fit and our ford transit extended barely made it .

only 1 toilet and 1 shower per gender so huge lineups.

motorhome is 3451.60ARG but she says she always rounds up to 3460 ARG and if you don't like it need to provide exact change or go elsewhere LOL . price is per van does not charge additional for people

slow wifi available near reception

Report Check-In

Nice windshelter, but small. Very friendly management. Was in doubt if we were a mobile home or not (rooftent on car) and charged us as a tent; 2100 pesos for 2pers.(mobile home is 3400, still worth it).

Report Check-In

fine camping with very hot showers. very busy but we didnt mind. we had a place with some privacy and the other visitors were very kind. would recommend. we paid 2100 for 1 night with small campervan

Report Check-In

We have been here twice, everything as described. Good stop durin the travel through ruta 40. In Nov 2022 we paid 1900ARS for two p and rooftent. In DEC 2022 they already considered us as motorhome and want cca 3000ARS. Don't know why this change but still good place.

Report Check-In

as described below a heated bathroom, too hot shower but you get clean when putting low. There is just enough space for about 3 to 4 motorhomes. Could be tricky in high season. stayed one night as we were on the move to the south. 1900 arg pesos for two people & van. Bit noisy road but not too bad. No dogs closeby that keep you up at night so that's a plus ;)

Report Check-In

Nice camping as described in comments below. Paid 550 ARS ppn (an additional 770 ARS apply if you want to pitch a tent). Good wifi at the entrance, heated bathrooms (!), and hot water (scorching hot actually).

Report Check-In

very little Site maybe space for four or five motorhomes. but all what you need and Clean. 3.200 pesos for 2 Persons and 1 campervan.

Report Check-In

Cosy camping area for a few tents and cars. Heated bathrooms with very hot water. Outdoor dining area, free power and wifi.
A campervan or tent and two travellers costs 1880.

Nice Place, clean, hot water /showers, electricity

Report Check-In

Good spot. Pricing for motorhomes is $1990 pesos. Fast Wifi, bathroom with heating and hot shower. Barbecue and electrical outlets. It's in front of the city's cinema, the campground seems closed, but at the entrance there's a phone number. Just call and arrange everything with Cristina, who spends the night checking if everything is ok and charging the amount.

Bom local.

small but very well maintained. hot shower, grassy será, parilla, WiFi
we paid 1850$ for a motorhome.

Report Check-In

Very small but friendly.
Hot shower, clean toilet, pique-nique area.
But no wifi since the covid pandemia.
2000$ for one campervan.

Report Check-In

Not open at this moment. Nobody is here for asking.
Looks as if no one was there by the owners.

Report Check-In

really hot shower, small campground, 700 for camper and 2 people

Report Check-In

5 ⭐️s. The bathrooms are heated! not great when the lady before you leaves a heater...but pretty great when you get out of the shower at night. Hot showers, great water pressure, nice grassy areas for tents. Wifi works good enough for everyday stuff, haven’t tried streaming anything.

Report Check-In

I'm surprised that they charge so much. These two different fees for your tent and then per person is very strange. But it's owned by the city and my complaints fell on deaf ears. I checked out several hotels in the city and they all want 800 pesos per person... despite the nearest villages only charging 400 per person. So I was just forced to camp here for 310 pesos.

Report Check-In

Decent campground - probably the best in Gob Gregores.

Report Check-In

If nobody is there call Vilma, she is much more friendly and helpful then the others! The actual price for motorhome is 700ars,no matter how many people. You don't have to pay extra for the people! The shower is very hot and long, even if there's not so much water pressure, it is very nice! There's also heating in the bathroom. Much better than the shower at ypf! Potable water, nice grass for kids to play and as I said, Vilma is so lovely! Recommended!

Report Check-In

Friendly place with good WiFi, hot shower, electricity throughout the site.
There's good wind shelter from the trees.
500 metres from the supermarket.
Paid 180 for the tent + 130 for person per night. 620ARS for two nights.
Recommended.
Some noise from the road.

Report Check-In

Actual price 700 ars motorhome + 130 ars pp... Didn't stay

Report Check-In

we were very happy with this village because both Bajo Carroles and Tres Lagos (we heared from people from opposite direction) has no diesel. the YPF in this village had. we stayed on this campground for 350 pesos per person, campervan included. the toilets and shower were clean and warm, with heater. we had electricity. 1 picnic table to share. this is a good place to stay for 1 night.

Report Check-In

very good. Nice staff. hot shower and wifi average. i Recommend.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

they asked for 350 ARS for one night one person one motorbike ?! did not stay even if the camp site looks like good.
the young guy was talking about gasoline with the price of the camp site ?! And I could not understand him even If I speak a basic spanish understandable.

Report Check-In

We ask at the Municipal Camping for showers and it was no problem to use them. The shower was ok, hot but not so much pressure. We gave „Pablo“ a tip of 100 ARS and he was very happy about that. Pablo is very friendly and gave us a lot of informations and maps about Ruta40 and POI (we got more infos than at any touristinformation!).

Report Check-In

See other descriptions. Good wind shelter.
Small and busy campingsite with only
2 batrooms and toilets.
700 pesos 2pax and travelcar.

Report Check-In

We paid 418 pesos for our camper and two people. He said he only charged us for a tent instead of a camper as the camper would've been quite a bit more expensive. Nice little campground with super hot showers. Good for a one night stop on the way North or South.

Report Check-In

Small camping, with clean toilet and very hot water. Nice bbq/fire areas and tables for eating. Paid 120 pp instead of 130 because the owner didn't have money to give the rest. In exchange for the favour, he didn't do for us the bill. Okay place if you don't want to do wild camping while on the long ruta 40.

Report Check-In

Very nice small camp site with clean facilities. We used is it as a stop between Chalten and Los Antigos. Had to call one of the numbers written on a plate and they came within 10 minutes. WiFi was quite fast for the region. Recommend!

Report Check-In

Gate closed and locked, two phone numbers to call for camping - no answer at both numbers, left messages but no one called back, left to „motorhome camping“ along river

Report Check-In

Good option for a day to rest after a long driving day. We paid 120 pp without a boleta. Apparently it’s 140 pp but the owner himself offered us a discount without us asking.

* It’s advisable to fill up gas and restock at the grocery store in this town.

Report Check-In

confirm previous comments: nice small campsite with hot water but maxi 3 cars can park inside. We paid 299p for two adults a car and a tent. little ones did not pay. good playground 3mn walking distance.

Report Check-In

Small campground mostly for tents. Can fit 2 or 3 vehicles. A party of bikes arrived before us and called the number posted. The man came and unlocked the bathrooms which were nice enough and clean. The hot water is incredibly hot! The man spoke very fast Spanish and would not even try to slow down. We think he said that a woman would come in the morning to take our money but he did not know how much (even though there is a price list posted on the wall of the office). We never saw the woman and left the next morning. There is a playground nearby for kids.

Report Check-In

Yesterday was a kind of Halloween party. It looked like the party was still on at the camping sunday afternoon. They left around 7pm and a man came with key of the reception. We didn't understand what he meant. Something about the holiday (dia de las madras?) and something about no cleaning the amenities today and tomorrow. Sleeping here in campervan was oke. Something about the boleta and no correct prices, but he didn't mention any price so we stayed the night for free. Still no clue what he wanted.

Report Check-In

We paid 245 pesos for two persons, a tent and a motorcycle. Very small indeed but cozy and not too many people. Baňos had heating!

Report Check-In

Indeed small campsite. Space for about 5 vehicles. We paid $245 Ars for two people and our truck. Seems like a good deal for the area. No security at night, but lights stay on and "apparently" the police (three blocks away) drive by every 20 minutes at night to check things out. Skanky baños though...

Report Check-In

RUM : Heute zahlten wir nur 250 Pesos. Er lässt mit sich handeln. Today we paid 250 Pesos.

Report Check-In

Kein Wifi.

Report Check-In

It's not for free anymore. Now they charge 403$ Arg per RV (see foto of the pricelist). Therefore we continued our trip!

Report Check-In

The lady there told us it's 250 for a car and 2 pp!!! Bye bye we are camping at the lake where it's nice and free

Report Check-In

Nice camping, good wind cover, no longer free: we paid 142 pesos, very hot shower.

Report Check-In

Six words: FREE, hot showers, HEATED clean bathrooms. Enough said.

Report Check-In

hot showers, toilet. ok for night

Report Check-In

Small camping. Only 2 or 3 RV can fit in otherwise there is room for tents. Not the best camping but it is free and we were very nicely welcomed, hot water all day, electricity. Quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Very small campground/parking for about five vehicles. Extremely muddy in rain. Good thing is the heated women's bathroom with very hot showers (hot=right) and hot water by the sink. Place is donation based. The town has a YPF with much cheaper prices than in caracoles (10 per liter gasolina instead of 14!) and we were able to stock up on food and gas. A paved road leads into town. At the municipality building there's a wifi network called "obras" that should work with [Password removed by moderator.] Was too busy when we were there.

Report Check-In

Still open and as described. Supermercado La Anonima and gas station in town.

Report Check-In

A cute little campsite that is free but you can give a tip to help cover the costs of cleaning.

Report Check-In

This is a small municipal campground at the end of town. Price is free, although a sign asks for donations. Not a ton of space. Truck campers have limited room to park in parking lot and there are about 5 sites for tents. Water, power, hot showers, BBQ areas and a few tables. Would avoid on weekend, more than likely very full of locals.

Report Check-In

Small campground with basic, clean bathrooms and hot showers 24h/day, electricity, but no WiFi.There is a grassy area for tents, rigs park in the gravel parking lot. Due to its location next to a main road, it's noisy even at night. Camping is for free, but donations are very welcomed.

Report Check-In

Good spot to spend the night while filling up on everything in town. Rigs must be parked in the parking area. Grills are available in the actual camping area tight next to the parking. Hot showers in the not so new bathrooms. There's a long hose where you can fill up on drinking water. Free

Report Check-In

The municipal campground that had bathrooms was closed. This is a free camp site with no facilities except a cement grill area.

Report Check-In

Amenities: elec but the bathrooms were locked / price: free / quality: 1. This town is out of the way no matter where you‘re headed, but the most reliable source of gas (YPF station) in the area. When Tres Lagos and Bajo Caracoles actually have fuel, it is expensive.. There is a La Anonima in town. This small campground looks abandoned but there is good wind cover. Like most of RN40 here it’s a rough 60km into town but is being paved. I believe RN40 will be rerouted through town when it’s finished.. Routing: Many people suggested we cross over into Chile via Chile Chico on Lago Buenos Aires/General Carrera. The road to Cerro Castillo will rattle you to death but has fine views. We didn’t head south once we hit route 7 which goes through Cochrane to Villa O’Higgins. If we had more time we would have gone down to Cochrane which we hear is beautiful.
