Description
The most popular (and only) place to camp near Cusco. It's a 20 minute downhill walk into town, and a grueling trek back up to Quinta Lala. We took a taxi up for 8S/. The covered area has a light and power outlets. The kitchen is basic, just a stove and a sink, bring your own pots, pans and plates. It's cold at night, but the fire pit helps. 12 soles per person + 12 soles for the RV. If you want to use the electricity, that's more 4 soles per day of use. Internet is inclused in the main price.
For BigRig, WeakEngine and people that don't want to drive through the very busy city with very narrow streets I recommend to take this Waypoint (it's near the PlazaVea where you can fill up your food resources):

From the waypoint go further up the street for 2,5-3km to Saqsaywaman. Your Navi should find the new way to the campground.
Take care when you leave the aspahlt to the last 200m to QuintaLala. The Street has a deep water supply on the right, use the left side to the unpaved way!

Water is said to be non-potable but we are drinking it - added a little bleach to the tank as it filled - and have had no problems.
For those wishing to leave their vehicles here while they return home and need to suspend their TIP, Millie has the procedure down pat and is willing to walk through the process with you. Tony LEE Nov
From the street it is a little hard to see where to enter, as there is not a good sign. There is a large light blue vehicle gate that is usually latched from the inside, but not locked. To enter walk back the way you came, towards cusco) and look for a wooden human size door. This door is usually unlocked and is the one you should enter. Check-in at the house there. The family is usually on site. There is a small sign saying Quinta Lala on the neighboring house, but this is the wrong location.

Report Check-InWhat more to say about this place? It’s one of those spots all the travelers gravitate towards. Sure, camping down on Calle Saphi is free and closer to the Plaza, but come here to meet other travelers, have a hot shower, leave your vehicle for a trek, and let your dog run free. The owners are super nice and organized, and can help facilitate anything you need—even DHL deliveries. The walk down to town only takes about 20 minutes and there’s a new trail that bypasses the road about 200m from the camping driveway. If you’re planning a trek, do yourself a favor and acclimatize by walking back up the hill and skipping the cab.

Very safe and quiet. I wouldn’t want to camp in town directly as it would definitely be less quiet and a nightmare with any rig bigger than a normal car to navigate through the narrow streets of Cusco.
The owners are super friendly. It’s convenient to have a kitchen/common room that can heat up from the sun during the day. Nice to warm up there as temperatures were fluctuating a lot (hot in the sun and very cold without). But expectable as it’s on 3500m ;)
Report Check-Inlove this place. if it wasn't at the top of a hill it would be close to perfect. it has everything, except fast internet. getting into to town isn't too bad but walking back up the hill is a bear. 6-8 soles during the day and double that if it's dark. dog friendly. the water here measured 375ppm so is not safe to drink and has visible floaties in it.
Report Check-InExcellent grassy areas to park in, some with shade for portions of the day. Quiet, restful, except for on the Friday night when the event area nearby had a party… but that didn’t go all night like some places. Kitchen/dining area is nice and sunny with dual burner propane stove and sink for cleanup. Bring in your pots and pans to cook. This area is also a great place to work, with outlets, and spend time with other overlanders, of which we found many! We filled our water tank with the water, but we have UV and multistage filters. Our friends that had a TDS tester said the water did not fall in the range of total dissolve solids to make it potable, and the owner doesn’t advertise it as such. Just FYI. Hot showers (ask the owner to change out the propane if the shower is not getting hot) and flush toilets with doors and seats. A treat! We paid to have them wash and hang dry our laundry for us. The hosts are super helpful, and helped me with little things like finding some scrap wood for a camp fire. Great place to base out of to explore the Sacred Valley, Machu Pichu, and Cusco. Excellent restaurant down the hill (5 minute walk) at the tight corner just as you start to run into buildings on Don Bosco street, SanCris Restobar Mirador. Awesome views, pisco sours, and World Cup on the tele. Great place to connect with other overlanders.

The best place to camp in Cusco! Yes it is a challenging way uphill, but definitely worth it. We did with our mini van both ways and for us it was easier to drive through the centro historico than the other way. The centro historico is quiet near to walk and even the way back is not too hard. We didn't use a taxi and walked. The campground is quiet big and offers hot shower, clean toilet and kitchen. Very friendly owners. Can really recommend it!

Average WiFi, sometimes it wasn't working. We stayed some nights here and some nights left the van here while we explored Machu Picchu and nearby attractions. We recommend it!

Similar to what others have said. Tons of overlanders here, easy to get to and from the city with Uber. Didn’t try the WiFi. Bathroom (we only found one) isn’t the cleanest but the shower is hot with good water pressure. 36sol for 2 people, 1 van for 1 night.

Laundry is 15Soles for 4-5kilos. Nice walk down to the center, harder coming up, 10-15soles for a taxi to come up. Tent camping also 12pp. Friendly family. Fresh liter of orange juice for 7!

S 10 Taxi to Plaza de Armas
Seul camping sur Cusco. Douche chaude (quand personne n’utilise le robinet de la cuisine commune en même temps), toilettes propres, wifi parfois capricieux et cuisine commune. Terrain avec herbe verte. Possibilité de brancher le véhicule à l’électricité. Chiens acceptés. Le village se situe à 20 minutes à pied, 10 soles le taxi.
45 soles par nuit pour 2 adultes et 1 Van. La propriétaire nous a fait une réduction car le wifi n’était pas toujours au top.
Cusco est magnifique. Plusieurs bons restaurants.
Attention, lisez attentivement les consignes écrites sur cette application concernant le chemin à prendre. Évitez la calle Palacio San Augustín, elle est très en pente, étroite et glissante. Évitez de façon générale le centre historique

Only place in Cusco to meet other Overlanders. Near walk to town.
Spent two nights here, then stored for 12 then spent antoher night the other side. The campsite works, we paid 36PN for usa nd camper and 12 for just camper when we were gone. There are actually 2 hot showers and 3 toilets now so a little better but still on the last night there was quite the queue to use the shower as it does get busy (only option in Cusco!). Recommend against using WiFi, just use mobile date it's cheaper and good from Movistar. All in all not bad though, Uber back up from town was cheap and pleasent walk down. Sell beers (12sol for a large) and water (20sol for 20L) but we just purified their water - you must do that as it's really muddy and brown out of the tap!
Report Check-InJust would like to point out that for people of roof top tents or tents this option is rather expensive and not worth it. The kitchen is basic (but lacked even dish soap), the “common room” is very sad, 2 wooden chairs and 2 wooden benches without a back rest, not a single table anywhere (kitchen or common area) so if you are looking to get some computer work done you need to rely on hunching over or have your own table. For campers RV and vans I am sure it is worth it. Also the hot shower failed 3 times during my shower going fully cold on seconds.
For the same 12+12+12+5 you can find places in town with safe parking, breakfast and a kitchen. Also the internet was non existent. I don’t usually ask for much but this place’s does not match the amenities (besides who offers a camping RV area and charge per person and for the car, either one or the other)

On ne fait pas svt des campings mais nos copains y étaient. on a trouvé très cher pour ce que c'est : 2 douches seulement et pour le nombre que nous étions clairement insuffisant. On était tellement entassé qu'on ne pouvait pas sortir les tables. Par contre plat , calme, 20mn à pied du centre (10 soles pour remonter en taxi). Elle fait aussi lavanderia (même tarif qu en ville) . En résumé , on aurait préféré ne pas y aller et dépenser dans un camping plus confortable. Mais parce qu'on n'en fait quasiment jms

Report Check-Innice and calm place. stored our camper here for 5 days and stayed each two nights before and after. friendly owners. uncomplicated and clean. there were just a few overlanders during our visit but I guess with 1 shower (hot) and only two bathrooms I can imagine it can get crowded. 12 per person per night, 12 for the car, 4 electricity (at sites) and 5 soles for wifi (slow). expensive for what it is but best option in Cusco and for sure there is someone to chat.

There is little kitchen, and two hot showers, the best that we had since a long time.

Owners are nice enough, but this place expensive for what you get. 12/person, 12/vehicle. Wifi is 5/day (and it didn't work much of the time). Electricity extra. Children are charged as well. (They have a book where they keep track of your bill). Only ONE shower for all the campers (and every night there were 20-24 campers). Water is hot. There's a tiny room with a bookshelf but only really big enough for a couple of people to hang out in, so it doesn't make for a great common area. If it's raining you have to stay in your vehicle or under your awning. If you go away for the day and leave your vehicle, make sure to tell them because they only charge you for the vehicle etc. Definitely a long walk into town (some of it with no sidewalk). The prices are a bit cheeky, but this is the only option in Cusco as far as campgrounds go. Anyone want to open a new one?😉
Report Check-InEnded up staying here for a week! Amazing spot above Cusco, close walk to town and cheap taxi back up. We met so many other overlanders here it was hard to leave. Showers are hot, WiFi is intermittent depending on how many people are here (lots!). Highly recommended.
Report Check-InGreat place to enjoy Cusco and to take the time. The camping is located near Sacsaywaman, with a grassy area and does have: hot showers,toilets,water and electricity for the tank and wifi. Price is at 40 soles per night including these facilities and you can meet with many IOverlanders! Really good for families. You can go down to the city easily and you can catch a taxi to go back for 8 soles. Cleaning clothes at 15 soles on site (only washing no drying). We came back for 2 other nights as we felt so good here !
Report Check-InWe spent almost 2 weeks on this camping altogether (with a few trips around) and really enjoyed it. It is THE place to meet other overlanders, the hot shower has a good pressure, the toilets are cleaned every morning, the owners are very nice and there is a book exchange! 📚 It does cost more than other campings, but it also offers more!

Report Check-InCame back after ten nights at La Cabana Hotel near airport as that location was closer to where we were getting some renos done. Quieter here and better chance of meeting other overlanders. To get here this time we went thru Pumamarca - way easier and so much less traffic than coming thru Cusco. You can catch views of ruins enroute. Laundry is 15S for 4-5kg. There is a brand new fire pit up from the slope from the kitchen/bathroom building and they sell wood. We stayed here two weeks and half way thru that time, Mili installed two new routers - one for each side of the house and WiFi is much more consistent. We also left our rig here while we flew home for seven weeks. Edgar, Mili's husband, does airport drop offs and pick ups.

Road to the camp is good, parking in there is on grassy area, so if you are there in rainy season you can have little problem. But because lot of people there, someone can help you. So do not worry, you do not need 4WD. 😉
Internet was really slow, showers are not hot and toilet paper wasnt available for everytime. But close to the old center and calm place where you can speak English.
Report Check-InWe got here on a Sunday. There were a few others here and Mili was out. The gate is actually grey and there is small sign on top left that says "camping". Wifi pretty good most of the time. Not always TP in bathrooms but there are seats and shower is hot with good pressure. Mili very nice.

Report Check-InIf you do not have a 4x4 you may have difficulties on the grassy soil after rain. The owner told us that they had previous problems with a regular RV's like ours because they got stuck in the muddy soil. It almost happened to us and we decided to go elsewhere. Besides this the place looked nice and owner was friendly enough.
Report Check-InGood spot to camp near historic center. The internet , with speeds from 1997, is now another 5 soles per night. If you really have not managed to get yourself a local sim card then this has to do. For people who have local sim for using their own data, its 5 soles too much. You have to tell the nice lady on checking-in that you don’t need internet. 3gb with Claro is only 30soles. Or go and ask the password from 10 other campers parking here. With Uber, its less then 6 soles coming back up here from central market. Taxi driver will complain but we think its not mandatory in Peru to be an Uber driver also if you own a normal taxi :)

A nice camping place with very hot showers, kitchen and a few outdoor sinks.
THE ACTUAL HOUSE IS THE FIRST VISIBLE ONE DOWN THE ROAD, not the second house. The sign is in the incorrect spot! Quinta Lala is behind a wooden door made of tree branches. Ring that doorbell!
Quiet secluded spot. Hot showers in cold bathroom. Mili, caretaker, tries to be helpful. Wifi spotty in the rain and average in the best of times. For big vehicles take Don Bosco all the way around and 28G. Even if coming from the north. Maps.me and Google will take you into the historic center with its narrow one-way alleys. Even our 2.5m wide vehicle suffered damage going that way. 25-30 minute walk downhill into historic center. Take 10s taxi back up hill.
Report Check-InWe stayed here for 8 nights and overall the stay was great. We are travelling 2 up on our bike and set up our tent on one of the upper levels. There were many "Big rigs" there, Isuzu's, Mercedes etc and this was no problem with everyone very friendly. There is only one shower which can get a bit tricky when the area fills up but the water was nice and hot which made up for any time waiting :). The internet was slow and if inside the new "common area" it was very slow. We were allowed a fire on a couple of nights which brought everyone together. We confirm the comments by others that if possible take the back roads in..... not a problem on the bike though.
Only minor annoying thing for the wife was that the toilet paper kept running out and people had to keep asking for new rolls.... only a minor inconvenience!. Being at the top of the hill the "horn" from the early trains as they travel through Cusco can been a bit distracting but just a minor note
Overall, plenty of room, good vibe and relaxing place to stay
we stayed 4 nights here, after we returned from our machu picchu trip. the campsite is pretty good for being close to town. only one shower, but this is always (24 hours) hot and clean. you will meet many european campers. prices/ day are still the same: 2 sols p.p., 12 sols car, 6 sols child, moto 2,5 sols, tent 5 sols, electricity 4 sols, internet (fast) 5 sols. taxi from towncenter to camping (uphill) is 10 sols (aswell on sunday, do not pay more).

To reach this camping Site use San Cristobal, not driving through the town. The camping Site is o.k. friendly people there, very helpful. Cusco is great. Washing machine is available.
Second toilet ready ! Nice and clean.

A bit overpriced but a good place to stay.
Easy to walk down to town and get back up with a taxi (10 Sol).
We also spent time here, after/before Machu Picchu/Choquequirao Trekking, at our time staying there we "met" 17 other Overlander cars(+parking ones) so with one Toilet house, it is quite difficult. But the owners are really nice, and after every question, they answer and did quick what ever was wished! They Building a big new part of the House. Which should be used for following Overlander as the new Bathrooms...The Internet, download still not bad, upload horrible!
Not to do advertising for a different spot, but if you coming from Puno, Cabaña Hotel is also nice for 1-2 nights, fast Internet.... 1/2 price...(Entry in Ioverlander as well) Gets cold in the night fore sure!
nice place close to Cusco. loads of other overlanders. quite pricy 12 per person, 12 per car, 4 for power and 5 for internet. one toilet/shower (one room so if someone is in the shower you can't use the toilet) is definitely not enough for 10+ cars. For being a paid service the WiFi does not work very well. also definitely make sure you do not drive up through the city but take the circumference road. the city is very busy with narrow steep streets and loads of closed off streets.

Report Check-InWe probably saw the site at is worst due to heavy rains and water logging. Having said this it was still a nice place to stay in Cusco and Millie is helpful and was well equipped with plenty of wood to put under wheels and get off the mud. 2 bathrooms were available during our stay, and there was always hot water, it was busy but that's because it's good and can accommodate all sizes of vehicle. We paid 45 soles incl elec and wifi, wifi was pretty good, not super fast due to number of guests but could upload photographs if patience.

Pretty expensive but the only place in Cusco to park. 8-10 soles Taxi up to Quinta Lala, 30 min to go down to Plaza de Armas (nice walk) a lot of rain and walking to the restroom got muddy. Washing clothes 15 soles per load (Mili actually measures your clothes per bucket whatever fits in the bucket it's 15 soles) what else.. bathroom was clean and shower was hot. Only campground in Cusco and meeting place for overlanders. Grassy terrain, little shadow. Ablutions are well maintained, but insufficient. Car storage possible. Downhill walk to town about 30 min., back it is better to take a taxi (PEN 10). PRN 36 (2 adults, camper), extra fee for electricity and wifi.
Report Check-InStill as described. To get in, go through the door to the right of the big gate - the house on the left (which, oddly, has a sign saying 'Quinta lala' on its wall) is private. We paid 45 a night for everything, including electric and WiFi. Yes, it's a lot of people sharing one bathroom - but this was the only downside to the place. It's the perfect place to spend a few nights if you need to relax, or do repairs on your rig.

Report Check-InBig parking area but really difficult to find the place itself. It's not that close to the center and the place is not that beautiful, besides is the only one in Cusco. It's in the middle of nowhere, but bigrigs can get here easily.
They charged us 12 soles per person + 12 soles for the RV. Internet was included and there was no extra charge for that.
If you want to use the electricity you'll also have to pay + 4 soles per day for that.
There's only one bathroom for everyone, besides is a good one.
Internet is slow and you can get non-potable water to fill your reservatory.
Nice place and close to town. We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Cisco. Wifi worked very well. S/36

Report Check-InAll as described, BUT there is a white woolly haired dog with a short tail that seems to be tolerated by Mili. It pees on tents, chairs, kids toys, and anything it fancies and has been caught stealing shoes. I suggest you don't encourage it

Great shower.
Milos is great. We stayed 5 nights total while in the area. Once arrivinv at 9pm without warning she was happy to see us. Short walk to the town centre or drive and park in a cochera for the day. All the facilities described by other users including a black water dump. Also enjoyed the 4 small dogs who live there and greeted us every morning.

Report Check-Inwe stayed 3 nights. perfect place to meet some overlanders. and we stayed again some days after our tour to machu picchu. good wifi. very bad (brown) water quality, fill up your tank before your arrival. over all the place needs a bit more maintenance and only one toilet and shower for all campers is not enough.
Report Check-InQuinta Lala is a great campground to stay during the time in Cusco. We also left our car and dog here to go to Machu Picchu overnight.

We had a nice BBQ here in the Fireplace but I am missing a good grill grate.

Report Check-InNice camping in Cusco like the others say, Watch out how you drive up - our gps took us straight through the centre of Cusco an was quite tricky, there's gotta be a better way. Camping service was perfect, showers really hot and everything really clean and organised.
Report Check-InHuge campground. 12SpP+12Sp car+5S wifi (+extra for electricity or if you run your motor). The one-toilet-situation was difficult with so many overlanders, since the shower is also in the same room and it was often blocked the whole morning. Stayed for a week and it was freezing the whole time. It's very high up and even colder than in town. The hike down to Cusco was nice though. And Milagros is super nice and the orange juice and eggs they sell are fantastic. There's already a gang of tiny dogs but the place is dog friendly. In Cusco we usually told Taxi drivers to go to the parking lot of Saqsaywaman and they drove straight up a curvy road coming from the plaza de armas. Turnoff is in a sharp bend. (Looking for the campground we had initially come from the back roads despite all the advice in the other comments).
Report Check-InWe stayed 6 nights. The new charges are s/12 per person and s/12 per car and s/5 for wify per day. Electricity is extra and 220volt. Milly's map was very helpful and she gave us tips on eating and sightseeing. Be aware the lawn is very soft in the rainy season and tires sink right through the turf. You may want to walk the area before parking to find the driest ground.

Report Check-InOnly camping in Cusco, so there is no alternative. Milagros (responsible person) is quite friendly. Walk down into the city is ~20 minutes, but the altitude difference is quite high, so we took a taxi back. The site itself is calm, green (including a small forrest) and a little bit chaotic.Only one shower and one toilet (in one room) for the whole campground - worked fine for us but might get difficult in the main season. Nevertheless the sanitary room is clean.We pay 35 PEN for 2 persons, one car, electricity (3PEN) and internet (5 PEN) in total.P.S. You can clean your toilet (Thetford) box here - there is a possibility to dump and a water connection to clean.

Campsite 20min away from central town (by foot) on the hill. A hotspot for overlanders. Rather expensive. Only one shower and toilet for all guests. It is not easy to find as there are no signs, but get closer to the campground if you just follow navigation comming straight from the south.

Difficult to find, not even drive through streets of Cusco. Access via the ruins of Sacsayhuaman. The white Cristo is a clue. When you sign LLaullipata turn into the street.
Report Check-InThe most popular (and only) place to camp near Cusco. It's a 20 minute downhill walk into town, and a grueling trek back up to Quinta Lala. We took a taxi up for S$8. The covered area has a light and power outlets. The kitchen is basic, just a stove and a sink, bring your own pots, pans and plates. It's cold at night, but the fire pit helps. Internet cost an extra $5/day.

Located next to the ruins of Sacsayhuaman. In twenty minutes you can walk to the old city of Cusco. The taxi fare is 6 - 8 Soles.

Report Check-InCost S10 per person + s10 for vehicle. Extra S5 for Wifi and S3 for power. Laundry S12 per load. Toilet and tepid shower on site. Water available but not great for drinking. Busy campsite likely to meet other travellers here but plenty of room. Parking in big grassy campsite, not quite level but there are boards around to help. Best way to get here is to drive to Plaza de Armas then take Plateros and follow Sapphi up to the campsite. Don’t trust GPS to route because it will try to take you down unsuitable roads (even for Landcruiser size vehicle).
Report Check-InCamp on grassy area. Power, Wifi, access to kitchen, shared one bathroom with toilet and shower with all the campers. When we were 15-20 people in the campground one bathroom is not enough. Possible to by fresh orange juice and eggs from the hens in the campground (nice but they were really noisy in the morning). We stored our car here for 10 Sol a day while we flew back home to Norway.
Price: 30 – 38 Sol. Depends if you want power and Wifi
